This blog post idea was inspired by Louise at Sprinkle of Glitter! Her video on how she keeps her spirits lifted was a real eye opener for myself and many other people, I think. Just her attitude to life is inspiring in itself and there should be more people such as herself in the world, it'd be a much more sparkly and happy place I can imagine! I mean I'm only 16 years old so I don't have the stresses of paying bills or parenting just yet but there have still been some darker points in my life and I'm pretty amazed at how different I am compared to back then. I feel so confident which makes numerous things in life a hell of a lot easier at times!
Anyway, Louise's video made me think that you really do have to look at the smaller things in life. Once you notice them, you'll see them more often on a daily basis and it'll give you a sense of pleasure. Whether it be noticing a pretty flower, eating something scrumptious or the kindness in a text from a friend - these are all little moments that could possibly make your day that bit brighter.
Something else that satisfies me and makes me feel good is when I know that a day hasn't gone to waste. I often write to-do lists so that I get things done because otherwise it makes me feel a bit 'eurgh' and like I've wasted a whole day doing nothing. I hate that! Being able to look at your piece of paper with various tasks on at the end of the day and seeing them all ticked off gives you a great feeling of accomplishment I find.
The last thing is helping other people. That might sound like an obvious point but doing my good deed for the day is something that not only pleases me but the person I'm helping too! Your piece of kindness that doesn't have to cost you anything could just make their day...
