The Life of a College Student?

Source:  peigeesimplelife on Tumblr
I guess you could say that this post is a pre-warning of something that is going to happen which involves this blog and my life. I was going to say that it wasn't a scary warning but for me it more than definitely is because my AS Level exams are coming up, which you will probably agree is quite a daunting event on a student's calendar!

I'm extremely determined to try my very best in each exam I have because after last years GCSE result's day I don't really want another trip to hospital in an ambulance, however I guess that my not-so-great results were because of my learning environment. I was home schooled using a website called 'E-Learning' with only virtual teachers to assist me with my subjects and although I thought that it was magnificent and worked 100%, after starting Sixth Form I realised how important the presence of a teacher really is to how you much you learn and understand. Anyway, back to my main point - the other day I remembered the huge disappointment and failure that I had felt on that day and there is no way that I want to have to relive that again, meaning that I honestly am going to try my absolutely hardest to get good results this time around.

Media is my highest achieving subject at the moment and although I'm predicted a B my teacher believes that I should aim for an A which is great! I love the media and would love to be a journalist so this subject choice was perfect for me and I really enjoy it. I'm currently at the end of my second Photography Unit and I'm a lot more confident with this one than I was with the first, mainly because I'd never done it before I think. Anyhow my exam for photoggers (amazing nick name, do not argue) is next Tuesday and is five hours long, although it isn't quite as bad as it seems because it is basically a 5 hour Photography lesson where we get to finish off the loose-ends of our project. I'm aiming for a B in this unit as I got a C in my last, which I didn't consider to be too incredibly bad as it took a while to get into the flow of the subject. Last but not least comes English (Language and Literature), ahhh. I've always been a huge fan of English and love writing which is probably rather obvious as I have a blog but seriously, at A-Level it is a lot more difficult than GCSE! The step-up is quite large and revision doesn't come easy either as there are not really any 'facts' to learn but despite this I'll write essay after essay to try and do my best in this subject as it is the most challenging for me - I do enjoy it mind you!

So that was my pre-warning and the reason being for this is because there may be a slight lack of blog posts from now until they are over which will be around the middle of May. This saddens me of course however as I said before I really, really want to pass my exams for this year and make myself proud and so that is indeed what I am aiming to do. I didn't intend on writing this much about my college subjects but hey ho that's how its seemed to have turned out, if you're at college or university then I'm sure you'll understand what I'm trying to get across! Also, good luck if you have exams approaching!
