New Year, More Memories...

Happy New Year to you all! I will begin by saying that no, this is not some sort of 'new year, new me' speech as I have kind of given up with resolutions that I never stick to. If you're the same as me then you may want to keep reading as this is a nice idea AND it's easier than resisting chocolate cake...

I won't state that this is my own idea because well, it isn't, but it is something that I will be doing throughout 2014 - a memory jar. Basically, the idea is that at the beginning of the year you have an empty jar, (ta-dah image to the right) and each time you have a good day or a lovely memory you write it on a piece of paper and pop it into the jar. Then at the end of that you, you empty the jar and read through each nice memory that you experienced! How cute is that?

The jar that I bought on Sunday is from a local home ware shop called The Range, but I have seen ordinary glass jars for sale in many other places. Also, I should point out that I didn't decorate this - I bought it already decorated for me at just £2.99! However you can easily tie some ribbon and charms on a plain jar if you wanted to, I'm just not the most artistic person in the world!

It's all about recording and appreciating all the memories that you experience over a year, no matter how big or small they are.

Grab yourself a jar, it isn't too late to join in.
