What 2012 Has Taught Me

I saw this particular phrase trending on Twitter and thought it was a great title for a new year type of blog post, so here it is! I know that many people tend to say this at the beginning of the each new year but I honest believe that 2012 has been an amazing year for me and it has made me very happy as a result.

I made this on Photoshop and included a few of my favourite memories from this past year!

This year has held some very special occasions and new experiences for me which is something that a couple of years ago I would of hidden from, during that time I believed that change was a bad thing when in fact I have now learnt, that isn't always the case. Here goes...

March:

In the month of March I turned 16 which is seen to be a milestone type of age that should be celebrated, it definitely is a good age to be and I'm enjoying it while I can!

At the end of March I was lucky enough to go to my first every gig/concert, thanks to my good friend Chloe! We went to see Cher Lloyd at the UEA in Norwich and it was so good. I had such an amazing time as I had never experienced the buzz of the being part of an audience like that before!

April:

In April I took part in my first show with the theatrical company I joined in 2011. We spent 3 and a half months rehearsing before putting on the show 'Bugsy Malone', I cannot explain how much I loved my first experience there and the atmosphere was amazing. I cried an awful lot on the last night!

June:

June was the month of my GCSE's. I know this was a difficult time for everyone of my age but what made it hard for me was the fact that I had done E-Learning, so I had been practically teaching myself for the past 3-4 years. The situation became worse when I found out that I had to go into my daunting  high school and sit the exams, (in a separate room to the other pupils mind you) but it was in fact ok and I did it no problem.

Despite this not-so-nice part of June, I did also get to model for my Auntie for her Summer collection! The shoot was held at one of our local beaches and it was beautiful. All models got their hair and make-up done and then got photographed alongside boats and other seaside things, it was a fabulous day out!

July:

Well, July 13th to be precise. Despite it being one of the dreaded 'Friday 13th' this was the best day of 2012 for me, I want to say that it was the best day of my life! A lot of you will more than likely already know this but on the 13th July I finally got the chance to meet my idol, Amanda Holden. It was absolutely incredible and I will never, ever forget that moment for the rest of my life. Not only that but I also got the opportunity to meet a few of the lovely Holdenites for the first time!

At the end of July I got to meet another Holdenite Sophie,  in the Summer at my local beach for a nice day out as her family were staying down here, it was great to finally meet someone who I'd spoken to so much beforehand!

Yet another event in July was my first Summer Concert with the same group that I performed 'Bugsy' with, this was again amazing and such a great experience!

August:

I guess you could say the 23rd of August wasn't a great day for me, it was GCSE result day. I didn't really want to put a downer on this post by adding this event but it did teach me a lot so I decided to just explain it briefly. Obviously everyone was anxious about this date for a few weeks, wondering whether they got the results that they wanted, having anxiety myself I obviously worried a bit more. Especially when I got my results and they weren't at all what I was expecting. I was really upset because of this and as a result, I suffered an epileptic fit in the afternoon of that day - I would say that it was scary but of course I don't remember a thing! Recently I got my hospital results back to say that I'm all clear and it was luckily just a one off.

September:

This was the start of my first term at Sixth Form, I was incredibly nervous as every aspect of this way of learning was new to me and I did doubt myself staying there because of the trouble I had gone through with high school.

November:

You may of already seen my new picture on here and my previous blog post about modeling for my Auntie's collection for the third time in November. It was great fun as always, not only that but it boosts your confidence for a while afterwards as well!

December:

Yesterday to be exact, was the last day of my first term at Sixth Form. Despite my wondering at the start whether everything would work out, it did. I absolutely love it at college, I've made several new friends and have had such a good couple of months with them! I'm a tiny bit proud of myself for making it this far and I know now for sure that I will finish my whole 2 years there like everyone else.

So what has the year 2012 taught me?

This year has taught me three things:

1. Don't worry too much
2. Never give up on your dream and,
3. Go for it

The events of this year have taught me these three things and more, which is why its been one of the best years of my life. I've experienced so much in this year alone and have been introduced to a lot more, I didn't think I'd get an enjoyable life back but 2012 has proved that I already have. Thank you to everyone who has made it a special year, you know who you are x
