I feel as if I have been abandoning my blog in the last few weeks! The reason behind that is because I have started back at Sixth Form and that I now have my own column in the local newspaper - how exciting?
I just had to share this news once I got a moment which is now, it all started when I was lucky enough to gain a weeks worth of work experience at my local newspaper. It was such a good week and definitely worth doing! After this, I saw an advertisement for a new 'Youth Columnist' in the paper and since I already knew the editor from the work experience, I decided to email him and inquire about the role. I was over the moon when I was given a trial task of writing a piece about any topic I liked, which would then determine whether I had secured the placement or not. Luckily, what I wrote was more than good enough and yep I now have my own column in a newspaper. Crazy!
I am totally over the moon with having this title and it will look absolutely amazing on my CV when applying for University and all that jazz. So far, I have written three pieces (the paper is out weekly and I write a column for each edition) and I thought I would share them with you...
I should probably point out at this point that the picture of me alongside the text is not pretty in the slightest but I am soon getting it changed so all is well! Weeks 1, 2 and 3 are below.
This is just one of my future goals achieved, I truly did not believe that one as major as this would happen so soon but I am extremely happy and grateful that it has :-)
Congratulations you must be tickled pink! :-)
