Give Spring a Pop of Colour!

I just couldn't resist writing a blog post about one of this years new catwalk trends for 2013. After reading various blog posts and magazine articles I realised that neon was going to be a huge fashion staple of this year and the good news is that anyone can pull it off. The good thing about certain shades of colour being in style is that you don't have to necessarily wear the colour in clothing, but through make-up or accessories too, which is the way that I will be sporting the trend as I can't imagine myself being able to pull off a luminous yellow outfit...

My favourite neon pieces that I have seen so far have been handbags, or satchels to be precise. I think that by taking such a classic style of bag and incorporating such vivid colour to it is a genius idea, especially if you find neon or bright colours difficult to pull off like me. Here are a few high-street neon satchels that I found online:

The quite bright...

I absolutely love this bag and it really is not a colour that I would usually go for at all, but something about it just works and for only £25 from Topshop you can't go wrong with this one. If the lime green isn't for you, don't fret as it's also available in a pink and dark blue too although this colour has received the highest star rating on the website for some reason!

The more subtle...

Next up is a slightly different shaped satchel from River Island. The bonus with these ones is that if you find the bright colours daunting then you can be very subtle with them like here by just having the pop of neon around the edges of the bag, this shows that you are aware of the latest catwalk fashion without going too overboard if that isn't your style. - Also available in a grey and orange version too for £30 each.

Celebrities sporting the look...

A celebrity who has been sporting this fashion craze recently is Britain's Got Talent's leading lady Amanda Holden who teamed her gorgeous purple dress with a matching satchel-style handbag for a day of auditions at the London Palladium. The lovely bag is from Aspinal London and although being designer, you can very easily copy this look yourself! If you don't personally like the this idea, then you could of course incorporate the pop of colour through your make-up or nail-varnish, which is probably the cheapest and easiest way to stay on trend.
After writing this post I am even more eager to get this must-have accessory, especially since we are coming up to Spring (I hope!) So that just about wraps up my ramble about rainbow like colours... I hope you enjoyed this fashion post and please let me know if you have any requests as I soon run out of ideas, thank you! :-)
